JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Pegula Ice Arena is looking to hire Facility and Operations interns for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. Successful candidates will work with the Operations, Figure Skating and Hockey staff, supporting various programs and events within the facility.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist full time staff in the planning, marketing and running of their regular programmingSupport the set-up and game day operations for Men's and Women's hockey games.Work closely with the staff while developing and managing themed skates, figure skating competitions, and other on-ice activities.Assist with off-ice events in the Pegula Club Café from conception to post-event (dinners, tailgates, proms, job fairs, meetings, trade shows and Intercollegiate Athletic events).Collaborate with social media content creation for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts; support for email marketing/newsletter campaigns; working with various staff members to update and create various team member handbooks and customer/participant guides.Involvement in the day-to-day operations of the facility including Opening/Closing and overseeing the front of house programming while providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

This position requires highly organized and collaborative initiative-takers with excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills who can manage concurrent assignments, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities. Successful candidates will also possess strong customer service skills. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation and stand for six hours. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and email marketing tools such as Mailchimp is a plus.

This paid position is available for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. The hourly rate is $13.00 per hour. The time requirement is 30-35 hours/week, and candidates must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
