Job Summary:An exciting opportunity exists for a Private Banking/Commercial Lender to join the Minneapolis wealth management team, which consists of approximately 12 multi-disciplined professionals. The Minneapolis team has full-service capabilities in banking, trust, investments and financial planning. The Banking Director is both an individual contributor and a member of the Minneapolis leadership team. By engaging in ongoing relationships as well as sourcing new banking opportunities, the Banking Director is responsible for growing the banking business as well as cross selling trust and investment services. The Banking Director is actively involved with supporting the business retention and development efforts of the team to help ensure that business objectives are being met.Major Duties:- Manages a book of banking and lending clients. Loan types can include private banking, client-sponsored commercial real estate, family business lending, family office lending, client-sponsored aircraft and premium finance lending- Personally sources and partners with other team members to source and develop new business. Coordinates strategies for enhancing client relationships and developing new relationships- Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs for the unit- Participates in developing the team's business plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the teamProvides leadership and guidance to banking partners, fostering an environment which encourages partner participation, teamwork and communication- Researches potential markets, develops client referral sources and initiates contact with prospects to promote and sell the bank's capabilities in all disciplines - banking, trust and investments- Is certified in GPS and is able to lead Life Driven Wealth Management activities for bankers. Builds effective relationships and manages the sales process- Manages credit risk ensuring credit quality of the managed portfolio- Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity- Accountable for ensuring that the team performs well in Loan Reviews, Annual Reviews, LDU's and all othercompliance, regulatory reviews and matters, including training
Qualifications:A College or University degree and / or relevant proven work experience. Candidates should have 8 or more years of experience with deep knowledge of banking industry and all credit and banking solutions through formal education and experience. Decision making, negotiation, and delegation skills are necessary to lead the team and develop client relationships. Leadership and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are needed. Must be highly flexible and adaptable to change.
