A public accounting organization in New York City is actively seeking a diligent and hardworking professional to join their staff as their new R&D Tax Senior / Manager. In this role, the R&D Tax Senior / Manager will advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners.
Responsibilities
The R&D Tax Senior / Manager will:Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendationsUse multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder views, to develop solutions and recommendationsAddress sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectationsUse data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-makingDevelop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clientsManage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all partiesSimplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key pointsUphold the firm's code of ethics and business conductQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation4+ years of experienceCPA or Member of the BarDesired skills
Thorough knowledge of Research and Development tax issuesExperience interviewing clients from C-level through to line executives in order to better recognize tax liability savings in the R&D environmentComprehensive technical skills with research credit regulations from the IRS, research credit case law, and utilizing R&D databasesExperience identifying and addressing client needsLeadership experienceKnowledge of alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools, to provide a point of view on pricing strategies
