Position Summary : The School-Based Emotional Wellness Therapist provides effective and efficient short-term psychotherapy services, screening, and crisis intervention for children and adolescents, and/or adults based on privileging. The Emotional Wellness Therapist will work with other treatment and school personnel in a coordinated, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to improve student engagement and emotional health. This position reports directly to our Pediatric Emotional Wellness Manager. May provide clinical supervision for Licensed Graduates and Master level interns. This is a full-time position based out of Moten Elementary School in SE, DC.

The salary for this position ranges between $75,000 - $85,000 annually and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's range.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities :

Completes intake and psychosocial assessments for all referred clients following COH protocols. Utilizes appropriate screening tools to assess for clinical diagnoses quarterly or more frequently as needed. Completes a treatment plan for all short-term therapy clients by the 2nd scheduled session and for long-term therapy clients by the 4th scheduled session. Monitors client progress through the course of treatment, reevaluating and adapting the treatment plan at required intervals. Treatment Plan should be updated at least every 3 months or more frequently as appropriate. Provides crisis intervention per the clinician's licensing, following the school's protocol and COH guidelines, to include addressing suicidal/homicidal ideations. Ensures client safety by following COH policies for contacting Child and Family Services Administration, Adult Protective Services Mobile Crisis, CHAMPS, School Based Resource Officer, and/or 911 when appropriate. Creates client safety contracts as appropriate. Provides individual, family (non-couples), and group therapy. Conducts training and builds school / community support for delivery of effective School Based Mental Health services (SBMH) to children and families Enhances school climate and broadly promotes emotional wellness, mental wellness, and school success for students, families and staff by conducting on-going needs assessments, building relationships and systematically seeking to reduce stigma. Participates in clinic services to support productivity, which is a minimum of 50 billable hours per month (12.5 billable hours per week). Meeting the productivity goals can be achieved through a combination of school based and clinic services and can occur either in person or via tele-health. Prior to start of break, works with supervisor to determine a tentative outline of availability for clinic services. Regularly checks in with supervisor to discuss updates to schedule. Participates in clinic services as allowed by scheduled school based services and blocked schedule. In addition to school based services, conducts clinic assessments, either brief or open intake, and/or provides short or long term therapy services to ensure weekly and monthly productivity goals are achieved. Provides crisis management support if available and needed for the clinic. Delivers a range of health promoting and preventive interventions, including those focusing on resilience, wellness and effective coping with stress Delivers a range of effective interventions to children and families to address emotional and behavioral concerns and the unique stressors through the delivery of training implementation of evidence-based practices Provides an array of additional services to include but not limited to teacher workshops, parent workshops, prevention manualized curriculums implemented with entire classrooms. Participates in early intervention team meetings, school climate and school culture initiatives and related meetings. Helps identify and address related problems affecting health of client, such as housing, vocational rehabilitation, and social integration, and coordinates service delivery with other health center staff and community providers. Follows appropriate discharge and/or discontinuation of therapy procedures. Maintains appropriate scheduling and files in eCW, including progress notes, telephone encounters, virtual visit notes, and any document needing to be uploaded via client docs within eCW. Completes and locks all assessments and progress notes within 3 business days after client visit. Responds to all urgent telephone encounters within 1 business day and non-urgent within 3 business hours. Maintains the required productivity numbers expected by Community of Hope, as set by the board.-currently set as 50 visits per month as 1 FTE. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal guidelines. Is current with ongoing training requirements and CEUs as required for licensing. Is a flexible team player, and helps other providers and staff as needed. Provides clinical supervision to Master level interns and Licensed Graduate Clinicians as appropriate. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications :

L.I.C.S.W., LPC, or comparable license required. Any providers who are licensed in Maryland who provide a copy of their license and MD CDS to Talent Management are also eligible for MD licensure reimbursement. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in community health center setting preferred. Ability to travel between sites required. This position may require evening or weekend hours depending on client needs. Ability to work with technology and electronic health records preferred. Knowledge of community resources or the ability to become knowledgeable. Fluency in Spanish or Amharic preferred. Proof of required vaccinations is required.
