Job Description
We are recruiting a Controller for a stable specialty sub-contractor located in Sacramento. Our client is a reputable business focusing on developing new and maintaining their long-term relationships. The hands-on Controller will oversee financial operations including AP/AR, job costing accounting, payroll and cash flow management . This position will manage a team of three long-term employees with strengths in prevailing wages, Accounts Payable Specialist and Billing Specialist. Our client has low turnover due to strong company culture where teamwork and peer level support is recognized.
This position is 100% on-site at our client site in North Sacramento. Compensation: $140,000-$185,000 DOE.
Responsibilities:Provide analysis and recommendations to help management make good operating decisions to reduce costs, improve profits, and return on investment to ensure the Company meets financial objectives.Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting. Budgeting, forecasting and analysis, monthly statements, Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger.Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, and reporting.Issuing timely and complete monthly financial statements including monthly WIP reports.Maintain a 3-month and 12-month cash projection.Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.Teach, train, and develop the use of accounting software.Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax regulations.Ensure Payroll is processed accurately and in timely manner.Year end review of financial documents in conjunction with our CPA partnership.Maintain and grow both Insurance and Banking relationships.Assist with workers Compensation claims and Contract management.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.4+ years of experience as a Controller and experience leading a team within .Must have experience working for a construction company.Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Extreme attention to detail.Ability to meet financial deadlines and support multiple projects.
