Tax Consultant (Cost Segregation)

About This Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Cost Segregation Consultant to help support our Cost Segregation team. This position will be responsible for developing the cost segregation tax practice with quality assurance, production metrics and service line growth in mind.
Key Responsibilities:• Lead and manage cost segregation engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectations• Plan, oversee, and conduct cost segregation engagements with clients and firm resources• Serve as the main cost segregation point of contact within our firm for clients• Cost Segregation Supervisor is responsible for clients receiving proactive communication and timely service• Perform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates• Review documentation required to perform cost segregation studies including: depreciation schedules, construction pay applications, and construction documents• Perform and oversee construction cost estimating utilizing RS Means or other estimating software• Communicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely manner• Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff• Participate in and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projects• Maintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specialization• Identify technical issues, analyze information, and report findings to the client
Qualifications• Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, engineering, economics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience• Requires 2+ years of conducting complex cost segregation studies• Experience making recommendations to management• Prior public accounting experience a plus• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Excellent decision making and critical thinking skills
