The Senior Manager, Procurement - North America engage in North America with a wide range of deliverables spanning global strategic category management, commodity price risk management including advanced market analytics and futures strategies, supplier relationship management (SRM), supplier performance, driving and supporting Suntory Global Spirits internal and supplier sustainability initiatives, and bringing forward supplier innovation.
Role Responsibilities
Strong understanding of commodities markets with knowledge of market factors that influence coverage strategies, price risk, and availability of commodities.Support overall business strategies in concert with global and regional category strategies through benchmarking, market analysis, and category spend management.Manage the procurement of direct material goods in the US & Canada, specifically agricultural goods (corn, wheat, barley, rye) energy inputs, and underlying cost inputs for packaging categories (natural gas, soda ash, aluminum, wood/paper, plastic resins)Partner with internal partners in Global Procurement Commodities, Supplier Quality, Sustainability, Operating Unit Planning, and Finance to ensure best in class supplier agreements, contracts, and performance.This individual will drive excellence in the execution of Category Management, including building and executing category strategies to support Suntory Global Spirits growth and 2030 mission.Support the development and execution of Sustainability initiatives as well as Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Initiatives from policy development to implementation across the procurement category supply base.Responsible for ensuring suppliers are engaged and in compliance with Suntory Global Spirits Sedex and Global Citizenship requirements.Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain ManagementMinimum 3 years of commodities trading exposure at either producer, mid market, or consumer level in the food or beverage market sector with focus on agriculture and/or energy sectorsDeep understanding and expertise in commodity markets, including: category cost breakdown as well as trends in manufacturing, innovation and engineeringExperience with sustainability initiatives and development of a supplier sustainability planExperience using Sedex (or similar) platforms (preferred)Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business or Agriculture EconomicsSelf-reliant, problem solver, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and a conceptual thinker with ability to adapt to changeDemonstrated success managing supplier performance and developing supplier relationships into partnerships
