Summary
The Director of Human Resources oversees the human resources function. This position develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training and employee services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and administrates human resources policies and procedures.Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill positions.Manages and administer benefit plans by working with agents in regards to coverage levels and designs, working with employees on enrollment, and being available to answer questions.Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.Coordinates and delivers management training in areas such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Maintains current knowledge of relevant employment legislation and court decisions.Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.Administers performance management program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.Administers salary administration program to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity within organization.Manages worker's compensation program working with the carrier and works with Safety Committee on reporting.Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews as required to determine reasons behind separations.Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and conducts investigations.Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.Keeps the correct parties informed on all abnormal or critical situations.Participates in and supports continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant.
