Job DescriptionThe Human Resources Generalist will support various HR tasks such as organizing employee training, administering employee benefits, employee engagement, and drafting HR policies and practices. The goal is to ensure the HR department's operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization. You will be the positive, professional impression of the organization for employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists Human Resources Sr. Manager with administrative tasks related to routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department and Corporate Services.Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance; maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; brings innovative ideas to the table.Partners with HR Sr. Mgr. in developing workplace initiatives to support our growing company.Performs customer service functions by responding to and resolving administrative inquiries and questions.Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.Assists with the preparation and distribution of the performance review process.Contributes to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that support engagement and overall employee satisfaction.Leads new hire onboarding program including performing orientation.Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Sr. Mgr.Maintains corporate job descriptions.Assists HR Manager with performance management including annual performance reviews, new hire reviews, and PIPs. Coach managers on employee feedback.Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations with the oversight of the HR Sr. Manager.Gathers and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates. Provide recommendations to HR Sr. Mgr.Assists with internal HR Communication as necessary.Shared responsibility with HR Coordinator: Perform administrative duties such as managing office supply procurement and placing orders as necessary, stocking the kitchen, scheduling meetings, and coordinating HR events and onsite visitorsPrepares payment summary forms.Shared responsibility with HR Coordinator: Lead IDG's internship program and engage summer interns in employee engagement activities.Support in the development and oversee employee recognition programs to acknowledge and reward high performance and contributions.Serve as a point of contact for international staff.Performs additional duties as assigned by HR Sr. Manager.Requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.3+ years of experience as an HR GeneralistExperience with ADP Workforce NowKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to preserve and maintain the highest degree of professionalism, and confidentiality with poise, tact, and diplomacy.Full understanding of HR functions and best practicesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Influencing skills and ability to negotiate and be assertiveWork well with tight deadlines and be flexible as priorities change.• Strong ability to research and seek out information necessary to resolve supply issues.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to operate general office equipment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.• Ability to use independent judgment, analyze information, and formulate recommendations.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
