Amazon’s Customs & Trade (ACT) Learning & Development team supports Amazon’s customs brokerage mission to provide global customers (International FBA Sellers and External Freight Forwarders) a one-stop customs business for international transportation services. To support expansion, we are searching for a Sr. Learning Specialist with strong communication, development and facilitation skills to join our team and help grow and implement customs brokerage onboarding, training, and upskilling programs. Amazon Customs Brokers own customs clearance on ocean, air, rail and truck cross-border shipments, and the Sr. Learning Specialist will play a critical role in defining and facilitating training and learning materials for onboarding and continued education. A Sr. Customs Learning Specialist is comfortable talking in front of a group as well as one-on-one with an individual, and is able to give and receive feedback effectively. Key job responsibilities

Innovate and lead training project directives and timelines while offering solutions to training needs variances

Facilitate operational training for Broker Operations Partners via blended learning experience comprised of remote instructor led training (VILT), in-person, and hands-on training

Conduct ongoing assessments of learning performance via data-driven approaches

Identify gaps in existing learning content; Innovate, create, and test new training materials that close critical skill and knowledge gaps

Manage classroom instruction, performance and reporting, providing subject matter expertise in areas of content specialties

Key skills:

Understanding of brokerage incident and escalation functions.

Proficient in and able to explain customs, in-bonds, duty statements, etc.

Experience in or with International Logistics, Cross-Border Transportation and Supply Chain, or US Customs rules and regulations.

1+ year as a Licensed Customs Broker or has Customs experience with a willingness to taking the Customs Brokerage or Certificate (CCS) license exam.

Fluent English (written and verbal)

Effective communication skills with stakeholders and leadership.

Basic Qualifications

International logistics work experience.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Demonstrated success developing, coaching and assessing business processes.

Corporate training or e-learning platform experience.

Experience using computers to develop instructional materials and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Experience with adult learning theory and/or human performance improvement.

Experience with performance metrics process improvement.

Ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and senior leadership.

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis logic.

Excellent accuracy, organizational and time management skills.

Editorial background and exceptional content proofreading skills.

Ability to solve problems and work without close direction in ambiguous environments.
