ROLE OVERVIEW

The Assistant Store Manager shares in the responsibility for the overall performance of the store and assists Store Management with generating sales potential, recruiting and developing staff, maintaining store appearance, and controlling expenses and shortages.

Must be available to work any or all three weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIESGenerate sales and profit, minimize losses, and ensure the store is visually distinctive and impeccably maintainedIdentify and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve and exceed business goalsOversee and maintain the customer service standards to the highest possible levelDemonstrate effective written and verbal communication skillsRepresent the brand image through personal and professional appearanceTake responsibility for productivity and profitability of the store including sales growth, staffing, and inventory resultsDirect all activities within the store in the absence of the Store ManagerManage time and prioritize tasksOPERATIONS

Understand and comply with all company policy, procedures, and operationsMaintain the highest level of security and safety awareness within the storeRecognize problems, analyze causes, generate alternatives and solutionsManage all controllable expenses, including the allocation of payrollAttend management meetings in the absence of the Store ManagerFollow Inventory Shrinkage Improvement ProgramSustain productivity in inventory counting and price change activitiesEnsure store has all necessary tools and knowledge of how to use them adequatelyDirect store openings and store closingsTake direction and complete assigned tasks and responsibilitiesLEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Train and coach team members on effective sales techniques and product knowledge to improve their performance | support the growth of your team, and to increase sales.Lead by example, take ownership of your development, assess your performance, and actively seek feedback, resources, and opportunities to improve and elevate your skills, knowledge and abilitiesAssist in recruiting and hiring sales associates who have strong presentation and communication skills representative of the brand imageDevelop all associates to be knowledgeable in areas of product, merchandising, operations, customer service, sales, and growth within the companyMotivate and develop support staff to meet store goals|objectives.Address difficult situations while maintaining performanceEffectively supervise the sales floor to ensure customer|associate awareness at all timesDemonstrate teamwork within store and company and ensure that staff is treated professionally, respectfully, and courteouslyEffectively participate and assists the Store Manager in weekly management meetings and quarterly staff meetingsExpress ideas effectively and lead by exampleMaintain confidentiality and meet own commitmentsMERCHANDISING & VISUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for direct supervision of a selected department or departments and ensuring the department(s) performs to its maximum potentialParticipate and oversee the execution of all merchandising directives, updates, and markdowns in a timely and effective mannerAnalyze and react to the needs of the business, identify top sellers, slow sellers, and fulfillment of merchandising strategyMaintain elevated store presentation by training and overseeing standards as defined by brand standards and company directives with an eye for detailHave thorough knowledge of sales floor and stockroom organization|systemsKeep management informed of all merchandise and visual related issuesMaintain store organization fixtures|hardware|general cleanlinessROLE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of one year of experience in retail management in fashion apparelKnowledge of retail store performance KPIs with a keen awareness of local marketExcellent computer skills, documentation, and communicationEnglish, additional language(s) an advantageMust be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business
