A NYC-based hedge fund is seeking an Assistant Controller / Sr. Fund Accountant.
Responsibilities:Preparation and review of NAV calculations for Master Fund and separately managed accountsWork on year-end audit process in collaboration with auditors and the administratorReview Fund tax returns and K-1sCalculate management and incentive feesManage relationships with Fund Administrator and AuditorsReview daily cash and position reconciliationsDaily interaction with prime brokers to resolve account differencesAssist with compliance related mattersWork closely with the accounting team on projects that include system and reporting implementationProvide guidance and be a mentor to junior team membersAssist team with data analytics and various internal/external reporting tasksWork on with ad hoc projectsQualifications:
4 year college degree2-5 years of relevant experienceExperience with Hedge Fund accounting is requiredMust be able to handle multiple accounts and high volume trading activityAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environmentAbility to work independently and collaborativelyStrong proficiency with ExcelDesired Skills:
Accounting major preferredIdeal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented and can work independentlyKnowledge of accounting systems, and trade-order management systems would be preferable
