Boston Engineering Corporation, an innovative product development engineering company, seeks an experienced, business-savvy Controller and financial trusted advisor with government contracting experience to lead the financial and human resources operations of its cutting-edge consulting company.

In this role, you will:

Manage all accounting operations, including payroll, AR, AP, and GL

Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner to senior management

Provide financial leadership for annual budgeting and planning by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating data

Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions

Oversee and manage month and year-end financial reporting close processes

Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements

Prepare for and coordinate audits, including DCAA audits and other government agency audits

Manage all human resources operations, including PR, benefits, performance, and training

Lead the current accounting and human resources teams, helping to clarify roles and responsibilities

This position is an office-based role at our Waltham, MA location.

The successful candidate has:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, MBA or CPA preferred

10+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in a consulting organization

4+ years managing staff

Government cost accounting experience required

In-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DCAA requirements

Experience managing finance and contracts teams in accounting for projects according to FAR and DCAA guidelines

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Understanding of human resources and compliance

Strong leadership and team management skills

Proficiency in Unanet, ERP systems, and MS Office
