Duties and Responsibilities:
Possess a basic knowledge of ship building procedures and know how to find compartments of the ship by space number, and know port from starboard, and forward from aft.Furnish another worker with materials, tools, and supplies as needed.Firewatch while Hot Work is being done.Responsible for cleaning the work area, machines, and/or equipment upon completion of the job or work day.Follow instructions exactly as given.Work safely and know the safety rules and regulations as they apply to you.Able to withstand environmental factors such as:o Outside weather conditions
o High, precarious places
o Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
o Very loud noise level
Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:o Stooping
o Bending
o Squatting
o Climbing (including but not limited to vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts)
o Crawling (including but not limited to through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids)
Perform all other duties as assigned.Experience Requirements:
1+ years of experience working in a Ship Yard.Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass Drug Screening and Work Ability Screening.Must be able to obtain a Government Facility Pass and DBIDS
