This Specialist is responsible for overseeing our OP, IOP, and Early intervention programs, which assist clients working on recovery from addictions and related behavioral issues. This individual will supervise our SUD staff, maintain a small caseload, and provide support and counseling to clients and their families, and facilitate the growth and development of this program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct clinical and administrative supervision of a team of certified addiction counselors (CAD-AD, CSC-AD, trainees).Facilitate the day-to-day operations of substance use treatment programs.Participating in the selection, evaluation, and when necessary, the termination of clinical staff; completing an evaluation form for each staff person supervised, reviewing and rating job performance.Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff (including but not limited to intake coordinators, clinicians, community engagement staff, and/or case managers/group facilitators).Participating in scheduled multi-disciplinary team meetings, conferences, and staff meetings.Oversee and manage weekly SUD Team MeetingsAssist with the development, amending, and maintaining OP, IOP, and Early Intervention Curriculum to meet the needs of clients and support phases of care.Manage and maintain all aspects of the IOP, OP, and Early Intervention Intake and Assessment process to ensure referrals meet medical necessity standards and clinical appropriateness for the levels of care available at RMBHS.Ensure the implementation of and adherence to IOP policies and procedures, and comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and city laws and COMAR regulations.Recommending new clinical services, and/or modifications to existing clinical servicesAssist in recruiting and orienting new clients into the SUD program.Supervising the pre-admission screening of applicants to determine their appropriateness for admission to the program.Manage a caseload of dually diagnosed patients including treatment planning, individual and group counseling, and case management services.Develop, implement, and maintain treatment plans.Maintain case records per policy and in accordance with regulations.Support supervisees in developing client-centered treatment plans and goals to address needs that are identified during assessment and interactions with clients, family, and group members.Completing quarterly Treatment Plan reviews for all active clientsProvide crisis counseling and general clinical coverage for clients as needed.Perform all job duties assigned including prevention, case management, assessment, treatment planning, and intervention, (including individual, family, and/or group therapy) for behavioral health clients within RMBHS's SUD program.Provide necessary documentation in a timely manner for treatment authorizations; submit accurate billing documentation in a timely manner.Provide referrals and follow-up to facilitate client use of agency and community support systems.Facilitate weekly treatment team meetings and participate in monthly Performance Improvement committee meetings as appropriate.Assume duties of the Clinical Director in their absence on matters requiring immediate action to ensure delivery of quality services.Assigns counselors' caseloads, amends when necessaryProvide guidance and support to counselors needing to obtain licensure and/or certification.Conduct chart audits to ensure appropriate documentation practices across the SA programs.Manage clinician completion of client assessments/screens and record reviews to evaluate client needs, including suitability for particular interventions or levels of care, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the client and interdisciplinary team.Evaluates potential clients for suitability of the program and monitor the progress of current clients.Monitor client toxicology resultsEnsures timely and accurate completion of all documentation.Collaborates with other staff within the agency, and outside providers, to streamline care.Assist with case management duties, including evaluating and connecting clients with other programs and resources.Engage in outreach efforts on behalf of the agency to recruit new clients.Promote continuity of services and program management of programs providing interdisciplinary direct care and services to clients within the SUD program.Develop programs to address the social determinants that contribute to substance use, recovery, and relapse.Provide crisis intervention and counseling services to clients/families to assist with addressing their emotional and behavioral health needs related to substance use disorder and psychosocial stressors, and to encourage compliance with treatment recommendations.Document clinical encounters, including supervision and management, as set forth by agency and licensing agency guidelines.WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Maryland and/or LCPC, LCSW-C (Preferred);Master's Degree and LCADC (Preferred)Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human SciencesAND

Any of the following current certifications in good standing with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists:

CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMFTMust have an approved Supervisor status under the Maryland Board of Professional CounselingAt least 2 years of supervisory experience as a Board Approved Addictions SupervisorStrong knowledge and skills to access, diagnose and treat medical and substance abuse issues, and have knowledge and experience with the special needs and behavior of individuals in therapeutic settings undergoing withdrawal from substancesFamiliarity with State Regulations (COMAR), DEA regulations, and CARF standards.Excellent documentation and computer skillsStrong knowledge of Electronic Health RecordsSubject matter expertise of local community drug trends, the effects of the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs, and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social science, economic, legal and medical systems, HIV transmission, behavioral and emotional implications of addiction.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
