Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Perfusionist to join the Department of Perfusion and work alongside some of the best medical providers in Philadelphia.
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Perfusion Director, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Providing patient care within the scope of practice of perfusion servicesPerforming clinical duties which include Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping (IABP), Autologous Blood Processing, Cardiopulmonary Support (CPS), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), Rapid Infusion, Hemoconcentration/ Ultrafiltration, Coagulation Monitoring, Blood Gas Analysis, Isolated Limb Perfusion, and Veno-Veno BypassProviding safe, clinical perfusion care and providing perfusion practices within the department to meet The Joint Commission, State Health Department and other regulatory agency standardsWorking collaboratively with other disciplines in ensuring comprehensive patient careEvaluating new techniques and, if approved, assisting with implementation of new clinical programsEvaluating new equipment for clinical applications
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Perfusion required or Bachelors degree in a science related field and Certificate of completion from an accredited Perfusion program requiredPA State Licensed and certification as a perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)required or eligible to take the ABCP exams(requiredEffective verbal and written communication skills required
