This position will be an itinerant position shared by Levine, Merancas, and Harper Middle College High Schools with the home school being Levine.

General Definition of Work

The technology associate, under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties related to the implementation and operation of technology assisted instruction. Assists students, teachers, staff, and parents in the operation of technology.

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.

Essential Functions

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and proceduresAssist staff with submitting helpdesk tickets and follows up as neededProvide basic technical support to existing school computers, tablets, network, AV equipment, student and staff devices, and printers/copiersIssue, distribute, manage, verify, and collect student devices each school yearWork with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructureAssist with the implementation of computer assisted instructional programsMonitor and assist students in the use of the computer; instruct students and teachers on the use of the computer; instruct parents on the use of educational computers; assist students through drill, study and research activitiesAssist teachers with the presentation of learning materials and instructional activitiesAdhere to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resourcesInspect computer equipment regularly; perform minor repairs on equipment if needed; arrange for major repairs on equipmentFacilitate school participation in technology programs and activitiesCollaborate with the school library media coordinator to provide leadership in the school's use of instructional technology resources to enhance learningAct as the point of contact for communications between Technology Services and the schoolEnforce the Internet Acceptable Use Policy, Photo and Video Release Form, and Student Technology Agreement for staff and studentsShare and distribute the CMS Student Technology Agreement each school year. Collect acknowledgements from students and parentsAssess and issue technology fees to applicable students and document parent communication of each fee generated. Share technology fee waiver process with any student or parent that requests itReview, update, and maintain accurate device inventoryPrepare damaged technology for transfer to the repair depot and receive fixed technology back to the school sitePrepare aging, unsupported, and damaged school or classroom technology for surplus pickupAttend professional development, professional learning communities, and other meetingsPerform related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, Abilities

Associate degree in education, technology, or related field requiredOR
