Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Public Health Initiatives Associate Director is responsible for providing daily productivity oversight to the operations of the healthcare programs. Administers the coordination and supervision of The Puerto Rican Cultural Center's health initiative programs and assures effective implementation and appropriate adherence of all federal, state, and local requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Embraces and ensures that The Puerto Rican Cultural Center's (PRCC) mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures are implemented.

? Effectively administers the coordination and supervision of agency programs and staff.

? Implements procedures for new programs and effectively assures integration with existing programs.

? Assist in the development of strategic and operational plans for programs and service expansions.

? Successfully ensures that each program supervisor executes components of programs as outlined in grants with appropriate outcomes and timely reports.

? Always maintain a positive relationship with program funding agencies.

? Conduct "Windshield" Surveys

? Flexibility to do cross training, HIV testing, outreach, case management

? Provide coverage for PHI programs, staff, offices, and meetings

? Learn to use Canva Platform

? Provides general oversight of all organizing activities, manages day-to-day program operations, and ensures smooth functioning, efficient organization.

? Ensures program quality and organizational stability through development and

? implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular evaluation.

? Ensures a fair process for selecting, developing, developing, motivating, and evaluating staff.

? Assures a work environment that recruits, retains, and supports quality staff and volunteers.

? Provides appropriate leadership, support, and resources to direct reports to effectively operate areas of responsibility.

? Appropriately delegates leadership responsibilities to personnel capable of carrying them out.

? Works with the LGBTQ+ community

? Challenges, motivates, evaluates, and rewards employees and managers toward the achievement of goals and objectives.

? Shows concern for the well-being and continuous development of managers and staff.

? Attends The PRCC and program-specific and organizational activities and meetings, including but not limited to the monthly organization-wide General Assembly.

? Participates in organizational annual events including but not limited to the Puerto Rican

? People's Parade, Fiesta Boricua, Three Kings Day, Haunted Paseo Boricua. Performs other functions assigned.

? Collaborates with other programs of The PRCC.

? Other duties as required.

This position requires compliance with all of PRCC's written standards, including its Standards

of Conduct, all policies and procedures and Regulatory Compliance requirements. Compliance

will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Experience working city, state, and federal grants

? Experience with fundraising

? Experience managing budgets, understanding fiscal processes

? Knowledge of information systems, program and grants management, non-for-profit operations

? Flexibility in hours

? Identifies as part of LGBTQ+ community

SKILLS:

? Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred

? Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills

? Works independently with a strong sense of focus, task-oriented, non-judgmental, open personal qualities, and clear sense of boundaries

EDUCATION:

? Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

OSHA Category 3 - Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues are not a condition of employment.
