The Batch Mixer I must accurately and expediently fill batches of finished paint or intermediates, precisely following the instructions of the batch ticket, including the fill volume or weight, filter size, sample and quality control approval procedures. Use equipment including pumps, filters, forklift, pallet jack and manual drum moving equipment. They must follow all required safety requirements and operate safely in a production environment in close proximity to other employees.RequirementsEssential Duties/FunctionsEssential Duties are those that are critical, integral, necessary, crucial, primary, and/or fundamental. These essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform.Work safely in a production environment in close proximity to others.Fill containers to required instructions per related ISO documents.Fill out all appropriate paperwork on batch tickets. Operate relevant equipment including mixers, pumps with filters, forklift, pallet jacks, and manual drum moving equipment.Clean all related equipment including mixer, pump, and tank using solvent blend. •Position will from time to time be required to transfer hazardous wastes (filters, rags, scrap paint and solvents) to the satellite hazardous waste area. Minimum RequirementsHigh school education or GED. Basic math skills to accurately determine weight of batch to be filled.Ability to operate all required equipment of pumps and meters highlighted in essential duties post training.Pass yearly respirator fit test.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities•DOT training to prepare containers for shipment.•Ability to complete all online safety training as outlined for the Batch Mixing group.•Ability to be trained and competent in all ISO Batch Mixing processes.•Ability to pass training and be certified on any powered equipment needed for functioning of job and complete refresher training every 3 years after.•Training on yearly on Emergency planning, including fire safety.•To recognize that health and safety is an obligation of every employee and to take reasonable care of oneself and others and to comply with Beckers Health and Safety policy and any Beckers procedures/rules that apply to the role. All employees have the responsibility to highlight unsafe conditions and EHS Managers, Officers, Supervisors and above have the obligation to shut down any activity if it is operating in an unsafe condition.Physical RequirementsEmployee must bend, sit, squat, walk, climb, push/pull heavy objects using appropriate equipment.Employee must reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements.Employee may be exposed at times to excessive noise, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and/or humidity.Employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, and chemicalsEmployee must be able to carry/lift loads of up to 50 lbs. Salary Description $18.95-$20.00 an hour
