Position Type: Technology Date Posted: 7/29/2024 Location: Danbury High School Closing Date: Open Until Filled Purpose: This Senior Student Data Specialist will provide on-site support for PowerSchool, the district's student data management system, with current assignment to Danbury High School. In addition, this position will support a districtwide Student Data Assessment Team by using PowerSchool's more complex functions to extract and/or manage data in diverse formats. The position will collaborate closely with school administrators, educators, and IT/Data System professionals to ensure continuous improvement of data quality and accessibility. Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Responsibilities for on-site management of the student data management system include master scheduling at Danbury High School, establishing and/or assisting with schedule overrides, ensuring courses/staff stay within enrollment guidelines, performing basic data queries, setting up calendars, attendance configuration, grading set up and storage, assisting in preparation of report cards, calculation of honor roll, page customizations, system upgrades and assisting staff with all PowerSchool products. Districtwide responsibilities encompass producing customized data reports to comply with district needs, generating datasets for administrators' data analysis, and supporting the Data Systems team in utilizing the student information system. This role includes managing and maintaining student information databases with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality, programming, importing/exporting data, and integrating district data systems for comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, the position involves providing training and support to staff on data system usage and best practices, with a focus on leveraging advanced functions of PowerSchool effectively. Qualifications: Experience supporting PowerSchool and other school data systems with demonstrated proficiency in scheduling The ability to write advanced data queries, create custom reports, manage custom pages, perform system upgrades and manipulate data Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, SQL, and other database query tools Possess interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with and provide technical support to all levels of users Reports to : Director of Technology and Student Data Systems Director of Data, Assessment and Research Working Conditions: UPSEU Union Agreement 12 month position/35 hours per week APPLICATION PROCESS ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ON-LINE AT www.danbury.k12.ct.us
