The Lateral Recruiting Specialist will report to the Firm's Associate Director of Lateral Recruiting and assist with the management of lateral recruitment for the New York Office, including devising search strategies, managing relationships with legal search firms, pre-screening resumes and overseeing the coordination of interviews, offers, and other feedback. This role collaborates with and supports firm practice groups and practice group leaders in all aspects of their lateral recruiting efforts.
Responsibilities
Support lateral associate and counsel hiring for the New York Office, in addition to all other full-time associate hiring (judicial clerks, 3L and LLM candidates)Assist with the development of innovative strategies to source, recruit and hire top talentEstablish and maintain relationships with legal search firms, obtain and analyze information regarding status of job market, and promote the Firm's talent brandDraft position descriptions and circulate positions externally and internallyProcess, track and file candidate submissionsReview candidate resumes, ensure circulation of appropriate resumes to practice group leaders; provide and obtain feedback regarding candidates; and oversee screening processCoordinate lateral interview process, including but not limited to scheduling and administering interviews virtually and in-person, reserving conference rooms, greeting and communicating with candidatesFacilitate decision making process and follow-up including tracking and collecting interviews' feedback and drafting offer lettersGather all necessary pre-hire information from candidates including pre-employment screening and conflicts forms, and initiate any pre-hire assessmentsAssist with the management of recruitment-related spreadsheets and tracking of relevant informationTrack and prepare vendor and search firm agreements and agency placement feesProcess recruitment and placement invoices for paymentAnalyze recruiting data and results, compare to strategy and targets, communicate status to Director of Legal Recruiting and firm management, and determine resulting action planCollaborate with Legal Recruiting staff in other offices to develop and promote firm-wide recruiting effortsEnsure the highest quality candidate experience throughout recruitment processSpecial projects as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 4 years previous law firm experience; legal recruiting experience preferredExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsRespond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunitiesThink strategicallyInteract effectively with all levels of firm personnel and managementMust be team-oriented and able to share information, goals, opportunities, successes and failures with the appropriate partiesStrong attention to detail and excellent follow up and follow through skillsMulti-task, manage, and prioritize projects effectivelyWork independently, under the direction of others, and as a part of a teamRecognize and maintain confidential informationProactively learn and adapt to new systems and processesPerform well under stressful conditions in a thoughtful and professional manner
This position will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
