Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Consultant will support Barrow Wise's Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) project and perform the following duties:
Assess the current fundraising program, board and staff expectations, current capacity, and environmental context for fundraising utilizing past documents and plans and limited interviewsIdentify strengths and weaknesses of existing fundraising efforts and infrastructure to determine areas for improvement and developmentAssess the opportunities and threats external to the organization as well as the agency readiness that will inform the fundraising plan to ensure its successDevelop a multi-year fund development plan and implementation strategy to build a fundraising program that generates $150,000 - $300,000 annually in unrestricted revenue and is reflective of and in alignment with PHI's mission/vision/values and capacity to execute and sustainDevelop a comprehensive fundraising plan with strategies to increase RSI's fundraising efforts from (i) individuals (ii) corporations and (ii) special eventsRecommend key components and tactics for 2022 implementation, including possible donor circleInitiate the implementation stage in conjunction with the Executive Director for an agreed-upon time following the completion of the planIdentify 10 new, vetted, high-potential donorsPlan and create an initial fundraising driveTest out fundraising strategy and complete fundraising cycle with initial drive including burden on the financial system and ability to track donors and thank themProvide training and guidance to board members and senior management staff on how to sustain the fundraising planRecommend a potential course of action to identify new resources to meet the ongoing fundraising strategies outlined in the planProvide and present the fundraising plan to the senior management team and later to the RSI board at a quarterly board meetingDrive locally to the Baltimore office when in-person meetings are requiredAn ideal candidate has the following:
S. CitizenshipBachelor's degree5 years of experience developing organizations' fundraising capacity for local community programs; demonstrate a proven track record for raising funds from individual and corporate donors and implementing fundraising campaignsFamiliarity with HABC and its programs, residents, and communities as demonstrated by the past 5 years of consultation, employment, or other engagement with HABCWork independently, have excellent written and verbal communication, and have solid outcomes orientation that gets resultsMust reside locally in the DMV area
