Renewables Attorney

A law firm in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a highly experienced Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will provide expert legal counsel on a variety of renewable energy projects, focusing particularly on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in areas such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities, as well as expertise in smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. Strong client service skills, interpersonal collaboration, and effective communication are crucial. The position requires a JD degree, active Bar membership, and a portable book of business.Key Responsibilities:Counsel clients on legal aspects of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.Advise on and manage power purchase agreements and other key contracts.Provide legal support related to facilities operations and regulatory compliance.Guide clients through complex issues related to smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency.Conduct legal research and stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the renewable energy sector.Collaborate with clients, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to address legal challenges and ensure project success.Resolve legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.Develop and maintain a portable book of business, showcasing a strong client base in the renewable energy sector.Requirements:JD degree from an accredited law school.Active member in good standing of the Bar.Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.Proven track record of a portable book of business.Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency.Skills:Expertise in legal issues associated with renewable energy projects.Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication abilities.Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.High level of client service with a focus on achieving client objectives.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with smart grid technology and energy storage solutions.Knowledge of demand-side management practices and technologies.Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters and provide strategic advice.
