Industrial-Organizational Psychology Assistant ProfessorDEPARTMENT SUMMARY:The Psychology Department at Sacramento State has 29 tenure-track faculty as well as multiple lecturers who serve more than 1,400 undergraduate majors and more than 50 graduate students. The Psychology Department features individual faculty research space, a psychological/behavioral services clinic, computer labs, technical/instructional support, and a small animal vivarium. The Psychology Department has a strong and ongoing relationship with the university’s Community Engagement Center and Center for Teaching and Learning, as well as multiple local schools and community partners. Through teaching, scholarship, and service we promote human equity, health and well-being, effective functioning, and respect for diversity.POSITION DETAILS:This is a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in Psychology beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. The classification annual salary range for this position is $71,100 - $151,128; the anticipated annual starting salary is $76,884.JOB DUTIES:Demonstrate a genuine interest in high-quality teaching and mentoring of a diverse body of students.Teach undergraduate and graduate industrial-organizational psychology courses.Develop a focused and productive program of research in industrial and/or organizational psychology.Participate in ongoing discussions regarding the industrial and organizational psychology curriculum.Supervise Master’s level students in industrial-organizational psychology.Provide advising to a diverse body of undergraduate Psychology majors.Provide service to the department, college, University, and community.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Ph.D. from an accredited university with a research and teaching focus in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, with specific subdiscipline open. ABD applicants will be considered.Evidence of a developing program of scholarship and research in the psychological study of work-related topics.Interest in contributing to the development of the Industrial-Organizational Psychology master's program.Evidence of high-quality teaching and/or mentoring a diverse student body.Demonstrated history of engaging in professional learning on supporting diverse communities.Ability to work collegially in a multicultural environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Teaching experience in industrial and/or organizational psychology courses at the college level.Interest in teaching courses in industrial psychology, psychological testing, and talent management.Training and experience in using a variety of teaching methodologies that integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice issues.APPLICANT INSTRUCTIONS:Initial review of applications will begin October 7, 2024, and the position will remain open until filled.
