Required:* Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Care program* 1 year of experience as a Pulmonary Tech* BLS

Preferred:* Registered Pulmonary Function Tech or Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Duties:* Provides direct and indirect pulmonary care services that are safe, aseptic, preventive, and restorative to the patient.* Provides direct and indirect respiratory care services, including but not limited to, the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory careprocedures necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative or diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician.* Observes and monitors signs and symptoms, general behavior, general physical response to respiratory care treatment and diagnostic testing.* Determines whether such signs, symptoms, reactions, behavior or general response exhibits abnormal characteristics.* In accordance with the prescription of a physician, may provide the diagnostic and therapeutic use of any of the following: administration of medical gases, exclusive of generalnesthesia; aerosols; humidification; environmental control systems and baromedical therapy; pharmacologic agents related to respiratory care procedures; mechanical orphysiological ventilatory support; bronchopulmonary hygiene; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; maintenance of the natural airways; insertion without cutting tissues and maintenance ofrtificial airways; diagnostic and testing techniques required for implementation of respiratory care protocols; collection of specimens of blood; collection of specimens from therespiratory tract; analysis of blood gases and respiratory secretions; lung volume, diffusion capacity and MIP/MEP.* Schedules and performs pulmonary function testing, spirometry, peak flows, pulse oximetry, and administration of bronchodilators as ordered by physicians.* Processes diagnostic reports and returns to ordering physician.* Maintains oxygen tanks, pulmonary equipment and needed supplies for facility.
