Job Summary

As the Associate Event Set-Up, you will:Work in Purdue Memorial Union Event Services to follow basic set-up of equipment required for high profile events and conference centerResponsible for setting up meeting and banquet rooms for special events. This will include moving furniture and equipment, and occasional heavy liftingCommunicate routine problems, notify supervisors of unusual problems, and respond to requests for extra furnishingsOversee the preparation of meeting and banquet facilities for scheduled events and work in collaboration with the Events Office Staff, Union Club Hotel Staff, and the client to ensure setups are to customer specificationWhat You'll Get:

Days/Hours :

Saturday-Wednesday, OFF THU/FRI, 4pm to 1230am

Pay: $15.75/hr plus $0.45 shift differential for a total of $16.20

Required:

High School Diploma/GEDOne year of service work, event setup, or related experienceStable work historyStrong attention to detailWork standards and productivity, decision making, and dependabilityStrong interpersonal and intercultural relations and communication skillsBasic mathematics skills and delegation while planningAbility to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionallyAbility to climb stairs, stand, walk, reach, and stoop extensivelyAbility to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgroundsPreferred:
