The Siri team is looking for passionate Machine Learning Engineers to join us in developing and shipping innovative technology to advance Siri for Apple's customers. Siri is being elevated by the huge opportunities that AI brings. The team is responsible for training and evaluating approaches, opening up the boundaries with the latest research developments, and ultimately delivering product critical models for Siri. These models ship across a wide range of products at Apple, including iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and more, enabling millions of people around the world to get things done every day. Description

As a machine learning engineer on the team, you will play a key role in our development. You will have responsibilities ranging from model design, implementation, training and evaluation. You will apply innovative machine learning and generative AI methods to continually advance Siri's capabilities. At Apple, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with many dynamic, multi-functional teams across software, research and product. You will contribute to system architecture decisions, write modeling and evaluation code, and peer review code. The ideal candidate will have a passion for applied machine learning, excellent software engineering skills and a desire to get things done. Minimum Qualifications

Hands-on experience developing machine learning systems: defining and creating metrics and datasets, training models and performing error triageFamiliarity with the theory and current literature of machine learning: optimization methods, common models, recent generative AI advances etc.Strong background in Python development and experience using Python for machine learning workProficiency in deep learning / machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)Excellent communication: strong interpersonal, verbal and written skillsMasters or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating and maintaining large scale, robust machine learning processes for use in a multi-person teamExperience developing, shipping and improving machine learning models in a production environmentExperience developing machine learning models for natural language understanding or digital assistants

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
