A law firm in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking an Intellectual Property Patent Attorney with 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution. The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences, and will demonstrate a very strong academic record. Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred. The candidate should exhibit the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment necessary to succeed and advance within the firm.Duties:Prepare and prosecute patent applications, ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations.Conduct patentability searches and draft comprehensive patent applications.Prepare responses to office actions, amendments, and other patent-related documents.Develop and implement strategies for patent prosecution and portfolio management.Analyze patents and patent portfolios to provide strategic advice and opinions.Collaborate with clients and inventors to understand and document technical aspects of inventions.Monitor and manage the status of pending patent applications and deadlines.Stay current on developments in intellectual property law and related technologies.Participate in client meetings, providing updates and strategic advice on patent matters.Requirements:1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences.Very strong academic record with demonstrated technical and legal skills.Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.Proven enthusiasm, commitment, and ability to advance within the firm.Education:Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences.Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school (required for USPTO admission).Certifications:Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.Skills:Proficiency in patent prosecution and intellectual property law.Strong technical background in relevant engineering or computer science disciplines.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Enthusiasm for professional development and career growth.
