Our team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test we support it. This role will initially focus on field testing and development of novel payloads and software implementations to enable future work on large swarms of coordinated systems, both manned and unmanned. What you’ll do

As a Staff Flight Test Engineer under minimal supervision, you will determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide and perform the completion of test activities.This position will focus heavily on new aircraft development, with an emphasis in electronics, avionics, propulsion, flight characteristics, rugged design, and quality at scale.Test duties include system and sub-system level T&E of hardware and software. As part of this process you will support or lead in test planning, establishing test measures of success, test conducting (ground and flight), analyzing test performance, and driving process improvement/development.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and 5+ years flight test engineering experience.Previous expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations thereof.Design and execute flight test plans to validate aircraft performance, stability, and control characteristics, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and safety protocols.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and refine aerodynamic models, control laws, and simulation tools for both manned and unmanned air vehicles.Analyze test data to identify trends, performance issues, and areas for improvement, providing detailed reports and recommendations to the engineering and design departments.Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), ensuring their accuracy and reliability through rigorous validation in laboratory and field environments.Must have a complete understanding of and passion for engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expansive knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.Able to work extended hours as required.Ability to travel as required for planning and testing.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
