Description Position Summary: Plans and manages activities of designated project(s) of components and suppliers to ensure key activities are accomplished within a prescribed time frame and within cost parameters. This individual is the program manager of a given project(s) supply base and responsible for purchasing and suppliers success, removing roadblocks, and recovering from issues if they arise.
Job Responsibilities: Represent the project with selected suppliers. Within the scope of their position, manage and track purchasing open issues. Drive open issues to closure to complete PPAP validation. Plan program purchasing activities and develop component timing schedules that meet program objectives. Ensure the delivery of components on time, within specifications, and within cost targets. Travel to supplier locations supporting product development throughout with periodic travel to company manufacturing facilities (domestic and international). Develop program status reports and report status to management. Coordinate technical reviews with suppliers and manage suppliers risk assessment. Maintain the purchased Bill of Materials. Coordinate APQP activities for supplier management. Manage assigned program's supplier readiness to product launch phases including control of tooling development and commercial impact of component design changes. Develop and implement proposals aimed at reduction of component cost. Directly support project teams for purchasing (engineering, quality, sales, etc.)
Qualifications: Knowledge skills and abilities: Excellent analytical and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project High level of customer interface experience Ability to work independently with minimal direction Well organized, detail oriented
Education: Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Project/Program Management. Program Management Certification a plus.
Experience: 5 years industry experience in a program management, purchasing or related field.
Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.
Working conditions: Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Have ability to work 40 - 60 hours per week. Travel: Domestic and some international travel up 25% may be required.
