Refactor Games is an indie game development studio in Santa Monica. We make experimental, emergent video games using new technologies like Virtual Reality, Cryptocurrency and Artificial Intelligence.We are looking for a Full-Stack Web & Application Developer. This is an Engineer or Programmer who can develop full stack applications for PC and web from scratch using technologies like JavaScript, Django, Python, Figma, React, Next.js, C# .NET, HTML5 and Amazon S3 technologies, among others.This person should have experience building and shipping production-level web applications from design systems such as Figma and be able to write and maintain documentation.The ideal candidate is organized and productive in a fast-paced environment, and passionate about building modern and intuitive user interfaces. They should have a strong portfolio of projects and be able to work autonomously and effectively with the development team.Responsibilities:Translate wireframes from Figma into high-quality front-end code.Architect and code new user-facing features using React and Next.js and other technologiesBuild reusable components and front-end libraries for future useLead sprint planning and standups to discuss priorities and manage issuesRegularly monitor and improve app performance, diagnose and fix bugsDesign graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, forms, and widgets.Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)Requirements:3+ years front-end development experience.Django, Python, Figma, React, Next.js and Typescript proficiency with an expert understanding of Javascript ES6Understanding of mobile responsiveness, TailwindCSS, CSS Grid, Flexbox, etc.Performing Tests and Debugging using testing frameworks like Jest, Karma, or Jasmine in a Test-Driven Environment (TDD) and helping establish development, testing, and best practices across the organization.Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs.You are familiar with and have production experience with AWSAbility to write well-documented, clean code, and have excellent attention to detailYou use automated testing tools, browser-based debugging, and performance testing tools daily, and can implement CI/CDYou prefer to code but can understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirementsYou are obsessed with performance and have the desire to build fast, functional, and innovative web or native applicationsYou are highly capable of time management, project management, and working autonomouslyTeam spirit, and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholdersYou can work in-person in Santa Monica, California.Some travel required.Pluses:Understanding of inter-process communication technologies including Pusher asynch messaging to the web apps and SQS messaging to C# apps.Previous experience with React Native, Android, or iOS/Swift.Previous experience with Angular to assist with existing projects.Familiarity with AWS technologies.Experience with Electron JSPrevious experience successfully scaling a startup.Experience with hardware devices, routers, displays and video game consoles.
