Area Engagement Director

The Area Engagement Director (AED) is one of the strategic partners to the Region President and the exclusive staff partner to Chapter leaders. The AED will have an overall view of the region, identifying areas of strength and opportunity. The AED is responsible for facilitating fundraising, membership and leadership development efforts within assigned region(s) in partnership with Managing Director, Associate Managing Director, Resource Chair and volunteer leaders. The AED will be responsible for the Hadassah West Territories (https://www.hadassah.org/page/region-map).Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with Resource Team (Managing Director, Associate Managing Director, Region President, Resource Chair, Annual Planner) on Region Annual Plans, identifying opportunities for the Region (including its chapters) to support National priorities; develop and implement programs, activities, training and provide services to achieve fundraising and non-fundraising goals (for ex. membership, advocacy, leadership, engagement).Work closely with Major Gifts Officer and Annual Giving Officer to increase major gifts ($5,000+) and annual giving (under $5,000) fundraising by identifying potential contributors, cultivating, stewarding relationships, and implementing events. Oversees strategic grassroots development efforts for assigned region(s)/chapters in accordance with National Hadassah policies and initiatives. Supports Hadassah volunteers in reaching goals for region(s)/chapters through grassroots fundraising training.Serves as catalyst for new group development, reinvigorating struggling units, and identifies underserved communities and specific demographics with special focus on young women.Support region and chapter leaders to identify successors, facilitate leadership development and training, strengthen board involvement.Consult with Region President and Chapter leaders to help resolve conflict and address opportunities through regular meetings; strategize next steps to continually move the region/chapter forward.Consult with Region President on agendas for Region Board meetings as well as Region Board member roles and responsibilities.Help communicate information from the National departments and divisions to the Region and Chapter.Collaborates with Region President and region leaders on large-scale region events to ensure that development and engagement goals are created and achieved.Work with Region President to coordinate member outreach and engagement by building visibility and credibility of Hadassah through collaborating or building coalitions with other local organizations.Help Region President to identify opportunities to represent Hadassah in the community through speaking engagements, op-eds, community outreach with partner organizations.Other Duties and Responsibilities as Required.Required Knowledge, Education or ExperienceBA with 5 years relevant experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience developing community-based programs and fundraisingStrong interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience working with Customer Relationship Management Software.
