Manager, Consolidation & Technical Accounting
What we offer
The Manager, Consolidation & Technical Accounting will be an essential member of URW's Consolidation and Technical Accounting group, reporting directly to the Vice President. We are looking for someone who is driven, hands on and wants to learn and grow with the Company. Individual should be a good communicator, detail oriented and knowledgeable in US GAAP accounting, with IFRS experience a plus. Individual will assist in consolidation of URW US entities and is responsible for preparation of US GAAP financial statements and packages. This includes review of supporting schedules, quarterly reporting and other monthly reporting and ad hoc projects for both US GAAP and IFRS. The position is responsible for US GAAP audited financial statements; but assists in the quarterly IFRS reporting required by our Parisian parent company. The individual will assist with administrative tasks of BFC, our consolidation and reporting tool.
Responsibilities for the roleLead and assist team in the US GAAP quarterly consolidation process of URW US's numerous wholly owned and joint venture entitiesLead and assist team in the quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statement reporting processAssist in the IFRS quarterly consolidation process of URW US's entitiesAssist in the annual and quarterly IFRS financial statement reporting process; includes deliverables required for the URWSE Parent company's public filingsPerform BFC administrative functions; including approving topsides, approving rollup of new accounts and business entities, report changes, system rule changes, troubleshooting and becoming a BFC go-to contact for the Accounting groupsWork with the Parisian parent representatives as needed on questions that ariseManage various consolidation issues, such as Noncontrolling Interests, Equity Accounting, IFRS 16, ASC 842, Preference Shares, Financial Assets, etc.Manage 1 Senior Accountant, provide staff development and trainingReview supporting schedules, roll forwards and journal entries prepared by the team and assist in preparation of these schedules as neededWork closely with the external auditors for the annual audit of US GAAP consolidated financial statements, semi-annual IFRS reporting packages and audit of internal controlsWork closely with the Accounting groups to provide accounting expertise for US GAAP technical issues and questions that arise and provide guidance for their preparation of the Stand Alone US GAAP financial statementsHelp identify areas of improvement, assist with documentation of policies and procedures where appropriateAssist with other reports, schedules, investigation as necessary and ad hoc projects Assist with US GAAP accounting research and implementation, and IFRS accounting research as necessaryAssist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions and other projects and transactionsWhat we are looking for
Finance or Accounting degree strongly preferred, real estate experience a plus CPA strongly preferred5 - 7 years of total finance experience, including at least 3 - 5 years of public accounting experience and management experienceStrong background in financial reporting, consolidations and technical accountingStrong understanding of US GAAP consolidations, equity accounting, noncontrolling interests and cash flows, with IFRS experience in these areas a plusUnderstanding and application of accounting for acquisitions and dispositionsExperience with BFC a plus, or other consolidation and reporting toolAbility to communicate effectively with people at all levels throughout the organizationStrong analytical skillsGood oral and written communication skillsDetail orientedAbility to work well with other team members and departments and supervise, train and motivate staffAbility to meet deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple projectsWe are excited by someone who is curious by nature and able to develop and implement innovative actions plans.Someone who has strong problem-solving skills and is confident in dealing with key internal and external stakeholders.
