SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager – International Freight & Cargo (BDM-IF&C) will be responsible for expanding our global reach, identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for international freight and cargo servicesIdentify and target potential clients in the global market for freight and cargo servicesDevelop and maintain a strong pipeline of leads through networking, cold calling, and referralsPresent our services to clients, emphasizing the benefits and competitive advantagesNegotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and service agreements with clients and vendorsProvide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries promptlyAttend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking eventsPrepare and deliver sales reports and forecasts to managementIdentify potential clients, markets, and industry trends to drive growth, including analyze market data and competitor activities to inform decision-makingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfactionMonitor industry regulations and compliance requirementsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proven track record in business development within the freight and cargo industryStrong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, and supply chain logisticsExcellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in relevant software tools (CRM, Excel, etc.)Willingness to travel as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum four to six years of experience in sales as an individual contributor. Background in logistics, supply chain management, and business development preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend documents written in English to an above average competency. Ability to support content curation and creation, reports generation and general correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to internal or external clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure at an Intermediate to Advanced level. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
