The Office of Admissions at Colorado State University Pueblo is dedicated to providing accurate, responsive, and respectful service to prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and community college personnel. Our purpose is three-fold:To promote CSU Pueblo and its programs to prospective students and their representatives;To generate applications, admit and enroll students that reflect the University’s standards and values; andTo provide leadership toward achieving goals for new student enrollment, most specifically as related to the number, quality and diversity of students.The Admissions Counselor is an integral member of the student recruitment team. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Develop and facilitate on- and off-campus programs for first-year students;Provide counseling on the admissions and enrollment process to prospective students and their parents;Participate in recruitment activities and visits to Colorado high schools and select out-of-state high schools;Maintain positive relationships with secondary school personnel;Assist in making admission decisions for first-year students;Recruit and assist transfer students with admission within primary territory;Assist in the development of communication plans and recruitment publications.Primary Duties

Recruits new students to the University by participating in recruitment activities and visits to Colorado high schools and select out-of-state high schools. When required, undertakes travel and territory planning -- including use of data to make informed decisions -- for successful completion of targeted recruitment.Works to create and maintain a positive working relationship with high school counselors within assigned territories.Assists with the first-year student recruitment planning process, including communication plan and publication development, as well as on-campus activities for first-year students and parents.Provides counseling on the admissions and enrollment process to prospective students and their parents.Contributes to additional functions in the Admissions Office and the Visitor Center, and assists in other aspects for recruitment as required, to include backup support for the Call Center.Ancillary Duties:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or universityValid unrestricted driver’s licenseExcellent written and oral communication skills.Willing to plan and execute extensive travel, both in and out of stateWilling and able to work evenings and weekends as neededAbility to lift and carry materials needed for recruiting purposesExperience working with diverse populationsPreferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, communications, or a related fieldGraduate of CSU Pueblo.Personable and approachable to prospective students/parents.Ability to work independently and self-motivate.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow-up in a timely manner, in the office and while traveling.Bilingual (Spanish and English)Sales experience, customer service experience, or experience with public speakingExperience in college admissions, visitors center, or comparable positionsApplication Process
