Job Description:

The Global Retail & Preferred Banking & DDGM Compliance & Ops Risk Team is responsible for identifying & managing operational risk across RPSB, DDGM, as well multiple EAC regulatory areas including Fair Lending, CRA, Complaints, UDAAP, Reg E, FCRA, UPE and SCRA, as well as the ADA Policy. Job expectations may include the ability to recognize all risk categories including operational and compliance, as well as directing risk staff or participating in establish risk management procedures and standards, issues identification, Targeted Risk Assessments, as well as Single Process Inventory (SPI) assessments and risk point of view (RPOV) summary documentation.

This job is responsible for the execution of the Global Compliance - Enterprise Policy, the Operational Risk Management - Enterprise Policy and the Compliance and Operational Risk Management (CORM) Program. Key responsibilities include identifying, escalating, and mitigating UDAAP risks in a timely manner, engaging with Front Line Units and Control Functions (FLU/CF) leaders globally, coordinating with the FLU/CF Compliance and Operational Risk Officer teams, executing the CORM Program and the Policies, identifying themes and trends, and conducting analysis for new and emerging risks.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data sets to develop thoughtful insights and cohesive commentary for executive leadership
  • Implements moderately complex solutions to address issues and risks, optimize efficiency, reduce variability, and improve controls, quality, and sustainability
  • Works directly with Line of Business partners to gather information needed to identify and implement solutions that resolve critical business challenges and opportunities
  • Participates in establishing risk management procedures and standards, as well as policy ownership and maintenance
  • Conducts execution of risk framework activities including independent monitoring and testing of controls and risk management processes for the Line of Business (LOB)
  • Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company
  • Manages risk requests, breach remediation's and providing risk effective challenges for front line units
  • Develops risk management analyses, reports, and approval procedures and guidelines on risk management and outcomes of assessments, monitoring activities and testing
  • Managing governance processes from beginning-to-end and ensuring sound communication among all stakeholders
  • Developing and coordinating timelines for deliverables across numerous priorities, and working to ensure that deadlines are met on-time
  • Supporting the GMR policy and procedures process, including drafting, socializing, and implementing key policies and procedures within GMR and ensuring adherence to enterprise policy
  • Responding to inquiries related to GMR governance from various partners, including legal, audit, and regulatory relations


Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills and executive presence
  • Proven governance, controls and reporting experience as well as working knowledge of risk management practices and regulatory interactions
  • Ability to develop comprehensive plans around key priorities and ensure all accountable parties understand respective roles/responsibilities
  • Strong partnership and relationship building skills with the ability to influence
  • Ability to think strategically across process and requirements, as well as ERHs/FLUs to identify opportunities to improve overall performance efficiency
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, produce appropriate changes and implement goals
  • Effectively and efficiently coordinate and drive execution of key control priorities across the broader organization
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services industry or experience in a related field as well as issue management or governance/strategic reporting roles

  • Knowledgeable of Bank of America's business lines, operations, organizational structure, senior executives, etc.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; focus on attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to develop executive ready communications and presentations
  • Expertise in use of applications in Adobe and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
