The Sales Team Manager is responsible for implementing sales force effectiveness and increasing sales across PK. The role creates and drives processes and initiatives for sales skills, forecasting, territory optimization, revenue growth, efficiencies, and CRM management.

Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
  • Directly manage the sales team members to build their pipeline, continually improve their skills, and generate revenue above their targets.
  • Drives pipeline initiatives that bring in new clients to Public Knowledge®, generates new revenue, and is tightly coordinated with the RVPs overall business development strategy.
  • Collaborates with multiple individuals and teams to create and execute all lead generation programs, including phone, direct mail, e-mail, web marketing, etc.
  • Meets with potential clients to negotiate and secure business and maintain relationships.
  • Delivers sales presentations to clients.
  • Ensures clients are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of our industries, service lines, regulations, processes, and procedures.
  • Creates, supports, and implements strategic business development plans to accomplish company goals.
  • Forecasts new client activity and works with the Sr.VP of BD to set performance measures accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs.
  • Maintains all CRM (Customer Relationship Management) data in the appropriate technology tools.
  • Ensures the sales team records all visits and contacts for their assigned territories within the CRM daily.
  • Generates reports as required.
  • Participates in tradeshows and conferences when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Other Credentials:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required;
  • Must have a valid driver's license.


Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience selling services or complex sales (not product sales).
  • A demonstrated understanding of how state government agencies purchase goods and services.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from external and internal parties, including large audiences.
  • Highly motivated, pro-active self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to address the needs of diverse customers; understand and respond in a culturally responsive way.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Government procurement experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more health and human services industries.
  • A minimum of 3 years of previous sales and development experience in consulting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Hubspot or another similar CRM.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must have the ability to travel to client sites
  • Ability to work from a home-based office
  • Must have the ability to work at a computer for extensive periods
  • Must have the ability to speak on the telephone for extended periods
  • Must have the ability to read (paper or computer screen) for extended periods
  • Must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other Company equipment


Location: This is a remote position, full-time.

Schedule: Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 + commission

Travel: Must be available to travel 75%
