This role offers the opportunity to build and mentor a dynamic team that plays a crucial role in developing complex designs for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world's leading high-tech companies. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available. Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, coach, and mentor the Electrical Department staff, focusing on employee growth, project success, and overall performance. Implement and manage numerous projects-including greenfield, brownfield, and conversion projects-through all project design phases, meeting financial objectives and deliverables.
- Oversee the design, implemenation, and engineering of active electrical engineering projects are completed sucessfully.
- Coordinate with various disciplines within the organization to collaborate, optimize, and improve work and staff sharing by participating in multi-discipline strategy sessions.
- Set clear goals and objectives, assess progress, and foster a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of department personnel to prioritize training needs and develop/implement a training program.
- Champion, mentor, and coach the development of the staff, elevating the technical and professional expertise of the team.
- Assist upper-level management in articulating discipline capability requirements in support of strategic and business objectives.
- Facilitate and supervise evaluation and employee relations duties, such as workforce planning/staffing, hiring, career development, advancement, and performance management.
- Establish, monitor, and adhere to an annual planning year budget, making changes and adjustments as necessary to meet financial objectives, and being responsible for department expenses, profit, and loss.
- Implement strategic activities within the department to achieve objectives of operations and corporate business.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent engineering degree with relevant experience).
- At least three years of experience managing people, along with a proven track record of organizational and employee development.
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of electrical engineering principals, and/or facilities design engineering within an industrial, semiconductor, chemical, or related industries.
- Demonstrated skill in multidisciplinary coordination and collaboration, strong organization and communication skills, and highly responsive.
- Salary Range: $125,000 - $170,000+/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
