DescriptionProject Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key job responsibilities- Lead a team responsible for managing logistics processes involving booking, track/trace, import/export commercial invoices/packing lists and related logistics- Execute Transportation related SOPs related to internal and 3PL processes for shipping/receiving/warehousing/inventory and related activities- Accurately track and manage milestone activity with various freight forwarders and 3PL service providers- Use manual processes and TMS software, 3PL systems and technology to ensure accuracy of milestone data, managing locations of shipments, and escalating logistics exceptions- Ensure efficient delivery of materials to internal and external customers, on time and without damage- Meet operational metrics related to just-in-time and next flight out urgent shipments in a global logistics environment- Attend weekly business reviews with stakeholders and provide performance feedback to internal and external customers- Effectively communicate high priority matters with leadership- Interface with Kuiper stakeholders and customers to include but not limited to: Global Trade Compliance, Security, Engineering, Legal, Logistics and other teams as needed- Shift schedule and days of the week will vary, as this is a 24/7/365 program and shift rotation are dependent upon business needs- Ensure shift coverage, train and supervise a team of logistics professionals maintaining visibility over all materials within the Kuiper Transportation programs- Ensure data accuracy in all program dashboards, generate daily reporting to internal customers and ensure SLAs or all shipment booking and execution- Ensure all conditions on the routes are safe for travel, plan routes and routes according to engineering and security requirements, and maintain communication with teams involved in the material movement within the Kuiper Transportation program- Role requires up to 15% travelBasic Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent- 3+ years in supply chain, operations, freight desk or logistics control tower or related experience- 3+ years working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment- 3+ years of team management- Experience with a TMS/SAP or other automated logistics program or software and/or manual shipment tracking methodology- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays- With or without reasonable accommodations, stand/sit for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently perform work onsite 100% (not remote eligible)Preferred Qualifications- Excellent communication and leadership skills- Experience working proactively and independently- Prioritize multiple tasks and assignments effectively- TMS/SAP or other system software involving freight or logistics- Previous dangerous goods training/knowledgeAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $108,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
