A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience representing either policyholders or insurers, possess excellent analytical and writing skills, and be familiar with first- and third-party insurance policies as well as insurance policy interpretation principles. The role requires leadership, initiative, and the ability to work directly with clients and colleagues. A strong academic record and a focus on client service are essential. The candidate must be licensed in the jurisdiction to which they are applying or be able to obtain such licensure within one year of joining the firm.Duties:Provide legal advice and representation in insurance coverage matters, including policy interpretation and claims disputes.Handle litigation related to insurance coverage issues, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.Analyze and interpret first- and third-party insurance policies and coverage disputes.Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions.Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate completion of legal tasks.Demonstrate leadership and initiative in handling complex cases and projects.Participate in pro bono work and contribute to the firm’s commitment to community service.Requirements:3-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation, representing either policyholders or insurers.Excellent analytical and writing skills.Familiarity with first- and third-party insurance policies and principles of insurance policy interpretation.Demonstrated leadership and initiative.Ability to work directly with clients and colleagues effectively.Strong academic record.Willingness to work on pro bono matters.Focus on client service and satisfaction.Licensed in the jurisdiction to which they are applying or able to obtain licensure within one year of joining the firm.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the State Bar in Washington, DC, or ability to obtain licensure within one year of joining the firm.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in drafting and interpreting complex legal documents.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.Strong client relationship management skills.Leadership and initiative in handling complex legal issues.Commitment to high standards of client service and pro bono work.
