following states that are within a 200-mile radius of an Oxfam America office which are located in Boston and Washington DC : ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, WV, VA, MD, NC or DC.The Manager, Institutional Funding and Partnership role is designed to oversee a team of Development Officers, lead and provide guidance in acquiring and cultivating meaningful donor relationships, and drive fundraising efforts from U.S. Foundations. In addition, act as an external representative of Oxfam and serve as knowledge resource.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Accounts Team (SAT) Management and People Management (40%):Manage the Strategic Accounts Team (SAT). Maintain an overview of all donor submissions and awards and monitor opportunity pipeline data and key performance indicators. Refine the SAT scope of work, targets, and team structure as needed to reflect current market.Directly supervise a team of Development Officers including their pipeline, and portfolios.Manage growth and performance of team including identifying, hiring, leading, motivating, coaching, problem resolution and developing talent to nurture a high-functioning Institutional Funding and Partnership team.Support proposal and report submission by SAT staff, including the provision of quality assurance on funding proposals developed by program teams and direct assistance on proposals as requested.Optimize relationships with Existing High-Value Donors (40%):Acts as an external representative of Oxfam, participating in meetings, conferences, and events in order to acquire new donor relationships.Focus on sustaining and growing relationships with key foundation donors, aiming to generate 6 and 7-figure grants. Develop strategy in consultation with Director and cascade it down to direct reports.Manage relationships with assigned donors, including developing and implementing three-year donor account plans for priority accounts.Collaborate closely with program and policy staff to cultivate and manage Oxfam’s relationships with strategic donors.Manage and conduct activities related to prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Write and/or edit proposals, reports, budgets, budget narratives, cover letters, contact reports, briefings, talking points and related material as appropriate to support fundraising strategies. Undertake donor-related travel as appropriate for meetings, site visits, and conferences.Identify areas of mutual strategic interest between strategic institutional donors and Oxfam programs and work collaboratively with program/policy staff and others to make programs and initiatives more marketable to new and lapsed donors.Continually build enhanced knowledge of the confederation and the Oxfam America program portfolios particularly the evolving trends in the philanthropic marketplace and what program design characteristics are most competitive.Collaborate with IFP Team, Affiliate, and Confederation to Maximize Performance (20%):Provide strategic direction to the IFP team through participation on the IFP Senior Leadership Team.Provide leadership on or find support for high-value proposals on IFP team.Collaborate with IFP subteam leads (New Business Development (NBD), Operations, and Corporate) in order to identify ways to maximize revenue and efficiency.Liaise with the executive office and program leadership in pursuit of institutional partnerships through which Oxfam could receive subawards.Stay abreast on trends in US foundation giving and serve as a knowledge resource for staff.Proactively update donor information in Salesforce or similar CRM and ensure direct reports update Salesforce as necessary.POSITION EXPECTATIONSWill stay abreast of professional standards, trends and issues affecting this set of responsibilities, demonstrating continuous learning of the field.Will work effectively and collaboratively in support of building a team-based, problem-solving work culture of work, treating all persons with dignity and respect, and will be familiar with and committed to Oxfam America mission, values, and goals.Will have a fundamental understanding of gender justice and diversity within key areas of responsibility and a commitment to promoting gender justice, racial equity, and diversity in our workplace and programs.Within key areas of responsibility, will have a commitment to and be accountable for activities contributing towards a safe and accountable workplace environment, projects and relationships for staff, partners and the communities we serve.Expectation (15%) for domestic/international travel.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAdvance degree in a field related to writing, communications, political science or international development, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Minimum 5+ of related progressive experience with at least 5 or more years of successful fundraising from large US foundation donors.Demonstrated experience in managing, leading and coaching a team, preferably in a union environment, and external partners.Experience in launching new teams, strategies, and portfolios.Superior writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with US foundation donors, staff, board members and volunteers; excellent listening and motivational skills.Strong time management, problem-solving, organizational, planning and administrative skills, including comfort with various information systems, and fluency with Microsoft Suite and databases.Ability to manage complex proposal development processes with multiple applicants and interlocking budgets.Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently, under pressure, prioritize work and to meet deadlines.Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices relative to US foundations.Knowledge of restricted funding budget construction and interpretation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAbility to communicate in French or Spanish.Experience in an issue-oriented non-profit organization or in an international development organization.COORDINATES WITHInstitutional Funding and Partnerships team, Executive Office, Vice President of Resource Development, Global Programs, Policy & Advocacy, Finance, Public Engagement, Oxfam International Institutional Funding, Regional Business Development Managers, and funding and program staff from other Oxfam affiliates and country offices.Non-Union/Exempt/Band JSalary Range - $88,000 – $96,000Oxfam America is a Gender Just organization and an equal opportunity employer.
