How you will create an impact

This Vice President Claims Technical leader is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and driving all aspects of claims technical excellence for Private Not for Profit Management Liability lines of business. The VP Claims Technical leader will directly handle high severity claims in addition to serving as a key leader to the management liability claims team. The position will share responsibility with the Technical Head for reporting on claims and industry trends to internal business partners and for training and development within the claims team.

Proactively handle high severity D&O, EPL, and fiduciary claims primarily against Private Not for Profit Companies.

Provide training and technical claim support to claim professionals.

Assure compliance with Best Practices and departmental policies and procedures.

Keep abreast of litigation trends and regulatory updates affecting professional liability.

Make presentations to senior management on high severity or complex matters and trends.

Analyze claims trends and statistics to assist the business in proactively managing risks and exposures.

Work closely with Underwriting counterparts in risk analysis and account meetings.

What you’ll need to succeed:

10+ years of insurance claims experience.

Deep claims experience handling complex, high severity management liability claims required.

Strong organization and time management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written presentation skills along with effective interpersonal skills.

Strong Analytical abilities.

Ability to provide technical support to a claims team in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage a caseload of complex claims.

A successful candidate will be a team player who can proactively identify trends and risks to assist management and underwriting in evaluating accounts and developing policy language.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.
