This role involves handling complex litigation related to financial services, including commercial real estate, distressed loans, and creditor and lender liability.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in financial services litigation cases involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.Draft, review, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions, preparing interrogatories, and overseeing document production.Prepare for and participate in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as needed.Collaborate with clients and team members to develop and implement case strategies.Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines.RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.Minimum of 3 years of litigation or clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and participating in courtroom proceedings.High level of academic achievement and proven problem-solving abilities.SkillsExpertise in financial services litigation, including commercial real estate and distressed loan matters.Proficient in legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Strong courtroom advocacy and presentation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive arguments.Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.Team-oriented with a strategic approach to case management and client representation.
