The Design Manager leads the process to deliver efficient and economical design to illustrate value throughbid and construction phase to satisfy client scope and technical requirements. This remote role will support our ATG group which includes Data Centers, EV, Industrial. Semi-Conductor and Pharma.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:Determinefundamental direction of design, continuously lead entire design team anddesign process from first step in design phase (schematic design) throughoutexecution until completion.Integral part of constructionteam, work closely with Project Executive/Manager and perform decisiveleadership role.Establish appropriate scopesand contractual agreements between Designers necessary to deliver project.Communicate effectivelybetween Designers, Construction team and client representatives.Throughreview and approval of all construction and shop drawings generated by designpartners and subcontractors secure the design in all phases meets contractual obligations.Manage timely delivery of alldesign documents.Generate and coordinaterelevant subcontractor contractual language relating to design.Initiate design reviews andleverage opportunities to optimize design, improve constructability and todetect risks.Understandand utilize lean aspects to minimize costs for and speeds delivery of designpreparation; strive to create designs to be delivered more efficiently(prefabrication and other lean techniques), delivered more safely (safety indesign), and balance first costs and life cycle costs.Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned#LI-JR1Position Qualifications :Bachelor'sDegree from accredited and credentialed degree program in Engineering and 10 years of experience in Engineering or Design ProjectManagement, including Construction Administration portion of Engineering andDesign Management or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experiencePrevious industry experienceas Designer, desiredExtensive Designing and Estimating experienceThink inhighly structured manner along all design disciplines with creativity to developspecialized solutions andanticipating potential challenges and opportunities, requiredCross-functional knowledge ofkey engineering disciplines (Architectural, Structural, MEP/ HVAC, etc.) andrelevant tradesMust be integrative byinvolving Design Specialists and experts, consultancy and supportEnjoy working in professionalinterdisciplinary team environment while keeping independent and professionaldesign viewLeadership skills to leadlarge teams and achieve goalsPhysical Demands:Thephysical demands described here are representative of those that must be met byan employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.
