Service Now Developer

(Junior) in the DC Metropolitan area to support the Coordinator for Afghan Relocation Efforts (CARE) within the Department of State.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions to meet business needsUnderstand ServiceNow development capabilities and drive enhancement recommendations based on information collected from end users and other stakeholdersEnsure use of systems follow agreed upon policies and procedures set forth by DOS, Consular Affairs, and other interagency partnersCoordinate the standardization of data operations best practices, including the development of standard operating proceduresWork on continuous system improvement by sharing experiences and knowledge with the teamAdvise internal management and interagency stakeholders on options, risk, and impacts of policy / programmatic changes on data operations and make recommendations on solutionsBasic Qualifications

:

2-3 years of experience as a key technical development resource for large scale ServiceNow developed solutions in client environmentsStrong technical skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow platform capabilities are essential for this position, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersAbility to meet the expectations and requirements of the internal customers and senior managementAbility to provide technical leadership and professional guidance to managers, team, and vendorsEffective communication in a matrixed environmentExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProvide technical assessments, written documentation, and technical expertise (Hands-on experience documenting technical designs and UAT scripts)Active Secret Security Clearance or HigherPreferred skills:

ServiceNow CertificationDevSecOpsTableau, PowerBI, Data Analysis SkillsComprehensive understanding of out of the box ServiceNow functionalityAgile Methodology familiarityExperience developing release notes and communicating enhancements to a diverse audienceKnowledge of U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, Resettlement, Consular ProcessingKnowledge of Department of State's bureaus, programs, and role in the US GovernmentConsular / Resettlement Agency / USCIS / or other relevant experienceExperience handling highly confidential information is highly preferredExperience and certification in ServiceNow application development preferred
