Job Summary
Vertiv is growing and we're looking for a
Director, Product Management – Busbar
in Anderson, SC. This is a highly visible and critical role that is responsible for driving overall product positioning and product readiness, driving share gain, revenue growth and profitability by gathering and analyzing voice of the customer and launching new offerings into the market.
The incumbent will evaluate the ease of market entry, product differentiation and value creation potential to identify product standards and enhancements, new products, market-driven lead times, and pricing strategies for increasing Busbar sales and profitability globally.
This position requires strong collaboration across the broader Busbar LOB, Vertiv sales, and operations teams and will work in close partnership with the broader Vertiv Lines of Business, including Switchgear and AC Power Offering Management to bring new products to market on-time and on-budget to drive growth.
Responsibilities
Monitors the market to identify and proactively respond to new opportunities based on market research, trends, customer feedback, market demands and competitive activity.
Manages the development of the 3-year strategic growth plan and offering roadmap to build, maintain and launch prioritized products in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
Attends tradeshows, visit customers, meet with partners and sales teams to ensure an accurate voice of customer is heard in all product plans.
Performs offering cost and gross margin analysis to establish pricing strategies/policies to remain competitive in the market while growing overall profitability and achieving pricing targets.
Ensures all customer facing offering documentation and marketing collateral is available and accurate, including specifications and offering attributes.
Examines current solutions to optimize design and construction. Drives efforts to optimize cost and margin to drive profitability.
Works closely with engineering on validation and qualification of products to new applications and markets; support transition of manufacturing to additional sites for expansion.
Supports Application Engineering and Business Development teams with technical product support to accelerate the overall pre-sales process as needed with key customers.
Drives configurator development to expand ease of quotation by the broader salesforce and support acceleration of new market introduction.
Manages product offering life cycles from new product introduction through end of life.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field; MBA preferred.
At least 10 years of technical product leadership experience with increasing managerial responsibilities.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to build diverse relationships internally and externally.
Experience in a medium to large industrial type organization.
Analytical skills to understand the impact of market and competitive changes as they affect a product portfolio and determine a successful course of action.
Proficiency with financial modeling and analysis of product programs.
