Innovation.Job Description:Position OverviewThe Director of Diversity and Compliance at Dutchess Community College serves as the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO), Title IX coordinator, and is responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with various anti-discrimination regulations. This position plays a critical role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the college community, and works to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. As a member of the college's senior leadership team, they report to the President or their designee. They work collaboratively to foster, promote and enhance inclusion and a sense of belonging across the College. They work with the college's diversity council to explore, recommend, and/or implement diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice (DEISJ) best practices. They also coordinate the college's non-discrimination compliance activities in accordance with federal, state and SUNY laws, regulations and/or policies related to Title IX, sexual misconduct, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, ADA Section 504, and Title VI non-discrimination. The incumbent will also serve as a member of the SUNY system-wide network of CDOs that facilitates the University's overall DEI goals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and regularly evaluate a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy that aligns with the college's mission, values and overall strategic plan.Oversee the college's compliance with Title IX regulations, including investigating and resolving complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination.Monitor and ensure compliance with other federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title VI and ADA requirements.Collaborate with various campus departments and stakeholders to promote and advance diversity and inclusion initiatives, programs, and events.Coordinate training, education, and awareness campaigns on Title IX, Title VI, and DEISJ topics for students, faculty, and staff.Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to DEISJ, Title IX and other non-discrimination statutes and regulations, and ensure they are communicated effectively to the college community.Serve as a resource and advocate for individuals who experience discrimination, harassment, or bias on campus.Stay current about best practices and emerging trends in diversity and compliance matters, and make recommendations for improvement.Assess and report on the effectiveness of diversity and compliance policies and initiatives to college leadership and external entities, including SUNY, as required.Represent the college at conferences, workshops, and other events related to diversity and compliance.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college/university.At least four years (full-time equivalent) of relevant experience.Knowledge of anti-discrimination laws and regulations.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster a culture of inclusion.Strong communication, interpersonal, research, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated leadership and strong organizational skills.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related field from an accredited college/university.Related experience within an institution of higher education.Experience in conducting or facilitating Title IX or other relevant investigations.Additional Information:The Director of Diversity and Compliance is a full-time, permanent position. The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site. Flexible hours required; some travel will be necessary. Employment will require a criminal background screening. It will also require references to answer questions about known Title IX, sexual violence and sexual harassment violations.Class: Management ConfidentialSalary: $95,000 - $115,000 - Commensurate with education and experience.All applicants are subject to a background check to include criminal, employment, and education.Dutchess Community College is an AA/EOE employer.
