Underwriter (Workers' Compensation)- Full TimeLocation: Spring Valley, NY, 10977What you will be doing:Underwriting and servicing of both new business submissions and renewals with the emphasis on profitabilityAssisting and training of Underwriting AssistantsReviewing Due Diligence reports, Loss control surveys, loss runs, timeliness of premium payments and taking appropriate action when necessaryCollaborating with specialists such as premium auditors, claims adjusters and loss control engineers for risk assessmentManaging and delegating on a regular basis the activities of underwriting assistantsPresenting accounts to management for underwriting approval accompanied by the appropriate underwriting data and recommendationsStaying current with rules and regulations, market conditions and corporate underwriting disciplines utilizing NCCI and State Insurance Department websitesAssisting the marketing department with presentations, proposals and visits with Brokers and PolicyholdersExperience you will need:

Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience with at least 2 years of Workers' Compensation underwriting individual accountsKnowledge of large account rating programs (i.e., Large Deductibles, Retrospective Rating, etc.)Effective written and verbal communication skillsEffective organizational skillsProficiency in Internet software and Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet softwareTop Reasons to Work with our client
