TeraPore Technologies is a venture-backed startup developing cutting edge nanoseparations materials for the biopharmaceutical market and beyond. Our team is comprised of PhD scientists, separation experts, and biopharma industry veterans, all passionate about enabling safer, cleaner life science products.

TeraPore is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its filtration products for viral clearance in downstream protein purification. You will be responsible for developing new customer relationships, nurturing these through exceptional customer support, and contributing to the development of new products. This position is field based, supporting customers primarily located in the Western United States, and the candidate is expected to have easy access to a major airport.

Responsibilities:

Identify and develop new business opportunities: Research, identify, and qualify key accounts and prospects to generate interest.Develop and maintain customer relationships: Establish strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and providing appropriate solutions and support.Lead Management and Conversion: Accountable for managing and progressing opportunities through the sales funnel, from initial contact to final sale. Implement strategies to optimize conversion rates and drive customer adoption.Manage Timely Customer Support: Accountable for ensuring that customer expectations are met in a timely manner by working and coordinating with manufacturing, product management, applications and quality teamsTriage technical issues: Communicate technical problems related to filtration applications, collaborating with internal teams as needed.Support product launches: Assist in the successful introduction of new filtration products, providing market support during the launch phase.Stay up-to-date with industry trends: Continuously monitor and evaluate the latest advancements in filtration technology, attending conferences and workshops to expand knowledge.Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with the sales, marketing, manufacturing, and R&D teams to provide input on customer requirements, market trends, and competitive dynamics.Support technical documentation: Provide feedback on product manuals, application notes, and technical guides for internal and external use.Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or related fields).Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, field applications or technical support role, preferably within the filtration industry, life science purification applications, or related scientific field. Experience working with customers involved in downstream bioprocess development is highly preferred.Established Industry Network: Connections within the bioprocess industry are highly desired, especially from process development and manufacturing teams.Demonstrated New Product Introduction Experience: Track record of successfully supporting the launch of new products, with responsibilities including market analysis, customer outreach, and sales support to ensure successful adoption.Strong technical knowledge: Proficient understanding of filtration technologies, filtration processes, and related applications. Familiarity with different types of filters, membranes, and separation techniques is highly desirable.Customer-focused mindset: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term customer relationships. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Travel flexibility: Willingness to travel domestically (at least 50% of the time) to visit customers, attend conferences, and provide on-site support.Effective communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely. Experience delivering technical presentations is a plus.Team player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to cross-functional projects. Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and meet deadlines.Self-motivated and proactive: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Salary Range:

$150,000 - $180,000 OTEAdditional equity compensation available.
