This will include direct oversight of the global consolidation, financial and external reporting process. This individual will be a key liaison to the global finance organization and business process owners and will interact with regional and functional controllers, managers, and colleagues of various regions and enabling functions, as well as other members of BMS Controllers/Finance, Informational technology, and Legal/Compliance organizations.The Associate Director will have substantial exposure to pharmaceutical industry accounting and reporting practices and provides an opportunity to enhance the financial reporting and analysis skills, strengthen verbal and written communication skills, and expand leadership skills in a global environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and yearly intercompany profit elimination process, working closely with the appropriate stakeholders (consolidations and financial reporting, tax, GPS, local markets, and shared services).Responsible for intercompany profit reconciliations and analyses schedules. Work with team to own schedules and ensure deliverables are prepared accurately and timely.Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of intercompany profit accounts.Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to intercompany profit accounts.Participate in cross-functional projects and support other finance organization teams when necessary.Provide support for internal and external audits and control tests related to intercompany profit accounts.Analyze and implement changes to corporate reporting systems, processes, reports, and controls to meet the Company's evolving business models.Manage staff's day-to-day responsibilities and provide Director with insights for professional developmental opportunities.Provide strategic leadership in conjunction with IT, stakeholders, and consultants to implement more efficient and effective processes and technology solutions for intercompany profit processes.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.Requirements:Active CPA certification is required.BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant Business degree.8+ years of total accounting experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.Public company experience is strongly preferred.Intercompany accounting experience preferred.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate large data sets.Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences/Biotech industry experience is preferred.Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills.Ability to prioritize and manage workloads and exercise a high degree of adaptability in a complex work environment.Team player and process-oriented.Accountable, self-motivated, results-oriented team player who leads by example and takes absolute ownership.Must be highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills, ability to work well with all levels and departments within the company.Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Consolidation Systems is preferred.Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm; requires strong multi-tasking skills and flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly.If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
